Ministry of Public Health prepares vaccines and anti-cholera drugs to help Myanmar

Today (24 December 2014), Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Minister of Public Health, spoke about the spread of cholera along the Thai-Myanmar border, saying that it is something that needs to be monitored and watched closely because it is located next to the country's border. According to data from Myanmar cities, including Yangon, Rakhine, Mandalay, and Mon State, there are approximately 7,000 infected people, which is an unofficial figure. In the Thai border area adjacent to Mae Ramat District, Tak Province, which is adjacent to Kokko City in Myanmar, there are approximately 300 infected people. In Mae Sot District, which is a disease control area, there are 4 infected people: 2 Myanmar and 2 Thai. There has been no spread of the disease and they are under the care of doctors.
